About Me

Thank you for visiting my website. My main research area is international trade and economic development. In my research, I make use of methods from game theory and industrial organization to analyze topics such as trade policy-making in the political economy context, global value chains and the regulation of multinational firms. I am also interested in labor economics with a specific focus on the role labor market institutions play in response to the effects of globalization. I currently hold an Associate Professor position in the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing at RMIT. Previously, I was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland while being a researcher at CERGE-EI, Prague. Before that, I was an Economist at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. I got my PhD from the University of Virginia (go Wahoos!) in 2006.
